From sign-up to driving in 48 hours.

Rentcaar is a peer-to-peer car-rental marketplace built for Australia. Renters pay weekly, hosts earn weekly, and a mutual matching system pairs the two sides — with optional verification when either side wants it. Here's the whole flow.

Renting a car

    Sign up + browse

    Takes 2 minutes. Browse listings or post your renter requirements to let hosts come to you. No verification required to start browsing.

  2. 2

    Match a car

    See a car you like → click "Match this car" → the host has 24 hours to accept. Either side can pause and request verification first (Stripe Identity for the renter, Verified Car badge for the host).

  3. 3

    Agree to terms + pay the bond

    Once the host accepts, click "I Agree" on the agreement page. Bond is 2 weeks' rent — fully refundable when you return the car. You set the pickup date and time; the first weekly charge fires on pickup, never before.

  4. 4

    Drive away — pay weekly

    Same fixed weekly rate every 7 days for the 4-week minimum term. Card declines? Stripe auto-retries and we email you immediately. End the booking early any time and we refund the bond in full.

Hosting a car

  1. 1

    Create your listing

    Add your car's year, make, model, location, photos, and weekly rate. You set the price; we charge a flat 5% commission on bookings — no listing fees, no hidden costs.

  2. 2

    Connect Stripe for payouts

    Quick Express onboarding (ID + AU bank account). Once verified, you can receive weekly payouts directly to your bank — no manual invoicing.

  3. 3

    Optional: earn the Verified Car badge

    Upload a current Certificate of Inspection (COI) and Class 4 CTP Insurance and our admin team reviews. Approved listings carry the "Verified Car" badge that helps you stand out and reassures renters.

  4. 4

    Match with renters, get paid

    Accept matches from renters (or initiate matches against posted requirements). You receive 95% of each weekly charge automatically every Monday. If a renter no-shows, you keep the bond.
